About Cake

Cake is a software product developed for use in the childcare business that offers end-to-end business solutions.
Cake can help the childcare providers manage their childcare facility more effectively. Cake offers a wide range of products and services to not only the provider, but to parents and employees, as well.
Why Free?

Mr. Henry D, CEO said "It's a gift" to his fellow childcare providers, especially to the small childcare owners because he understood how challenging it can be to run a childcare without a good management software.
He simply wants you to try it, most if not all childcare management softwares out there have an incredibly high initiation cost or high monthly subscription fee.
Cake Desktop allows you to experience a complete childcare management software for Free, whether you have an in-home Childcare with no employees or a large center with 50 employees. Cake Desktop is 100% Free, just click the download button and
you are on your way.
Cake History

Cake started with a childcare owner, Mr. Henry. He was a young entrepreneur who started his first business when he was 17 years old and along the way owned firework, carwash and chemical businesses.
He started his first childcare facility when he was 23 years old back in 2009 and now currently owns three childcare facilities with a total space that can accommodate more than 500 children. While he was expanding his childcare business, he searched for a software package that will allow him to oversee and manage all of his facilities that he could acquire at a reasonable price. After searching in vain he found a couple of softwares that had potential but all shared one or more problems:
- High start-up cost or monthly fee
- An outdated interface
- A narrow range of supported devices and platforms (iPad, MAC)
- Costly updates for newer versions
- Limited access for parents/employees to the system
About Owner

I was born in a small town in Texas but was raised in Thailand until I was 15 then returned to Texas tofinish high school.Even at 16 years of age,I already had the business spirit havingstarted a carwash business and then a fireworks business both with profits that financed completion of a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Finance. Managing both businesses was a learning experience as all endeavors should be.Lessons learned from each hurdle encountered was instrumental in solving subsequent problematic encounters.
I never imagined myself taking the safe and easier road.I never entertained being at a desk job with an investment firm.I wanted to venture into something that would test my knowledge and intuition, highlightmy capabilities, and challenge my fortitude while hoping to better society with my philanthropic views, so I decided to start my first childcare business. I have always had a soft spot for children.Now I currently own and operate three childcare facilities with a total space for more than 500 children.
When I started my first childcare business, I searched for a software package that would allow me to oversee and manage all daily functions of my facility that I could acquire at a reasonable price.
At the time, an economic recession was financially straining my businesses and I could not even spare a few thousand dollars for a childcare management software. I decided to take matters into my own hands and used an Excel spread sheet to keep records of the children's attendance, financial bookkeeping of tuition, food billing and payroll.
After getting my third childcare business up and running, I finally had enough to invest in a quality childcare management software. I researched and compared around 20 softwares on the market. After searching in vain I found a couple that had potential, but all shared one or more problems:
-
A High start-up cost or monthly fee;
-
An out-dated interface;
-
A narrow range of supported devices and platforms (iPad, iPhone & MAC);
-
Costly updates for newer versions;
-
Limited access for parents and employees to the system.
I was disappointed by these problems, but from the shadows of disappointment came an epiphany. I asked myself "why should something so essential cost so much?" My Excel spread sheet was easy to format and could match other softwares, yet it only cost me my spare time to create. I also feared that other childcare providers like myself were turning away from quality software because of the problems listed above. I wanted to help them. The childcare business is an incredibly competitive market and smaller childcare centers cannot experience and afford quality childcare management software. With my years of experience in the childcare business, my educational background and the love of computer technology, I believed I could create a software of my own. So after months of researching and pooling of resources,
I was able to create a software that would meet and surpass current products on the market.
I consulted my friend, a computer programmer, who helped advise me on how to make this software work. He told me that "anything and everything is possible, all it takes is a little time and money." After many weeks of late night debates and discussion, I decided to create a team of my own to take on this colossal task. I began thinking about integrating smart phones into the system for parents and providers to use and incorporating an accounting component to the program as well. By the end of the year, I found myself investing much of my time in this project because it was inspiring, fun and actually helped people. I decided to quit my PhD program to fully invest all of my resources to this project. By 2012, I had 14 programmers working full-time in all areas of my software. I fully believe that this is my life's calling and I will do whatever it takes to fulfil it.
I am a childcare owner who struggled with the management of my business at its inception, who made mistakes and learned from them,who used tools within my financial reach to simulate a childcare software to manage the business, who in socializing with other childcare owners, parents, and staff learned of their frustrations, and who had the vision, motivation, and fortitude to bring to reality a concept that was once on paper that will revolutionize the management and operations of the childcare business.
